Adromischus cooperi var. festivus, commonly known as the Plover Egg Plant, is a small, slow-growing, dwarf succulent native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is highly prized for its unique foliage, featuring plump, grey-green, or silvery-green leaves covered in distinctive dark purple or burgundy spots, resembling the eggs of a plover bird.
Care Instructions:
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or full morning sun. Intense, direct afternoon sun can burn the leaves, so protection is recommended during the hottest parts of the day.
Watering: As a drought-tolerant succulent, it requires infrequent watering. Use the "soak and dry" method—allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Water less in winter, as it is semi-dormant.
Soil: Thrives in a well-draining, gritty succulent or cactus mix. Amendments like sand, perlite, or pumice are recommended to improve drainage.
